Visit of Sweden's Prime Minister H.E. Mr Reinfeldt to India
His Excellency Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt of Sweden and His Excellency President José Manuel Barroso of the European Commission visited India and held talks with India’s Prime Minister His Excellency Dr. Manmohan Singh on 5‑6 November 2009 for the 10th India-EU Summit and bilateral meeting preceding it. An important outcome of the India-EU Summit was the signing of the India-EU Agreement in the field of Fusion Energy Research. This agreement underscores the growing importance of energy security and clean energy in our cooperation. The India-EU Summit was preceded by India-Sweden bilateral meetings on 5 November 2009, which saw the signing of two MOUs on cooperation in the fields of Environment and Defence.
