HE Shri Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India led a delegation for an official visit to Sweden on September 15 – 16, 2009. During his visit, the Minister had substantive meetings with the Foreign Minister of Sweden HE Mr. Carl Bildt and the Trade Minister of Sweden HE Dr. Ewa Björling. He had interaction with the CEOs of the leading Swedish Companies as also with the CEOs of Swedish Small and medium Enterprises. 

The Joint Work Programme of the Indo-Swedish Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific Cooperation was signed by both the sides. Joint Secretary (DIPP) Shri Gopal Krishna represented the Indian side and Director General for Trade in the Foreign Ministry represented the Swedish side.

A business delegation coordinated by Confederation of Indian Industry, New Delhi was also part of the official visit. The business delegation was headed by Mr. N. Kumar, CII’s Past President and comprised of prominent industry leaders from India.
